Put your beanie on and think about this for a minute

That "free" service you just subscribed to is going to cost you...big time

Yes, it's true. We're admitting to it here...you can put up your own website for free, and sometimes they aren't that bad looking either. There...we said it! But listen to this - what you save in real money, we guarantee you'll pay for somewhere else. Proof is easily found using any search engine you can get your hands on. Your search will find a few good HOA websites, but many times more that are in really bad shape...and we know why.

So many HOA websites are an after-thought, probably by a homeowner who was frustrated with the lack of communication from the association and sought out one of these free services.  It was easy...drag and drop here...add some content and pretty pictures there...and launch!  Done!

There is a cost associated with every decision and in this case, it's immediately evident when the ads started popping up every time you click on something, solicitations everywhere! Or there was the promise of a free website, until after it was launched, then the fee's for this and that, start rolling in.

There are even pitfalls using Social Media as your main form of communication to membership.  What if a homeowner isn't subscribed to or use that particular app?  What happens if that group is locked down so homeowners have to apply and get approved to get access?

Free websites and Social Media are great tools to use for sharing photos and cheaply completing school projects, but let's get real...do you really want one of the most important tools in your community toolbox to be the cheapest and poorest-quality, especially knowing that this particular tool could have a positive impact on your property value?

A homeowner should never build and manage an HOA website

Hey, we're not beating up on the well-meaning homeowner. We know consistent and strong communication is a challenge for all associations, but asking a homeowner or having a homeowner volunteer to stand-up a website and then maintain it, is a pitfall waiting for victims.

We've seen it countless times...a well-meaning homeowner registers a domain and gets a free website with it for a year. Puts all the content they think is needed on the website and releases it. The homeowner shows his neighbor who serves on the board...everybody gets excited and for the next year the homeowner feels great about giving back to fellow homeowners and the association comes to depend on the website, until...

...that homeowner moves away, becomes disgruntled with the association because they've received a letter about the weeds in their lawn, or life takes over and they get too busy to maintain the content. All of a sudden, the website content stops getting updated or slows to a crawl, the homeowner stops responding to requests for updates, maybe the website is taken down or worse yet has content that is so old other homeowners know the information is unreliable, so everyone quits using the website, and finally...the homeowner holds the domain name hostage because they registered it and have been paying the renewal fee each year.  Digital death of what started out as good-intent.

All is lost, right?! Not at all! We can help in so many ways!

We're baffled why anyone would pay for a website service and then still have to maintain their own content

Seriously! Help us understand this one. Why on earth, would an HOA subscribe to a website service and then have to still be responsible for updating and maintaining their own content on a regular basis. It just doesn't make sense to us! That's like paying to get your car fixed...and you have to do the work too!

For the same price or less as what some of these provider's of HOA websites are offering, we're also giving the HOA an hour each month of changes to the website, so content is always fresh, events are always posted, and documents are constantly made available...and we're also not going to change the rates just because your HOA has 6,000 homes versus the HOA down the street that only has a couple hundred, either.  No tiered-pricing based on size and full features for all.

The solution is really easy to understand...keep it as simple as possible. After we design and build a really great looking website for a flat fee, we work with you to keep the content fresh and relevant, so homeowners and visitors continue to come back month-after-month. Tip Alert: Constantly fresh content is one of the secrets needed to gain status in search engines, so your community can easily be discovered when folks want to find it.
